An all-inclusive resort is one where you conceivably can stay within the confines of your resort and not have to reach into your wallet. Your drinks and meals are included as part of the package. Like a cruise ship, those meals are served at different times of the day and are either menu items or buffet depending on the resort.
When picking an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, you want to look at high season vs. low season. The high season starts in December and runs until early April. Within that season is a “peak” zone, which is the last week of December and the first week of January. That is when the prices will be the highest. The more affordable months are May, June, September, and October. Many of these resorts see an uptick in European visitors in July and August. That is when the rates trend upwards.
Here are a few affordable all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean that could become your next vacation destination:
Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort, St. Lucia
You won’t be checking into a hotel room at Windjammer Landing. Instead, you get your pick of one of the 80 Mediterranean-inspired villas each with their own private pool. If you want to hang out poolside with your fellow travelers, then you can pick from one of the six other main pools located throughout the resort. There’s also an amazing white-sand beach to lounge on. Windsurfing, snorkeling, and Hobie Cat rentals are all part of the all-inclusive package at this resort, so dive in and have fun!
Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, Aruba
This is the only resort in Aruba with a casino. It is also only open to outside guests in the day-time. You aren’t far from the historic Oranjestad’s historic shopping district. Water taxis can take you to Iguana Beach for some relaxing hammock time.
The Explorean Cozumel, Mexico
Although it is officially part of Mexico, Cozumel is actually an island and the Explorean is one of the islands more intimate resorts with just 56 rooms. No crowds here! Your room rate at the Explorean provides you with full access to the next-door Fiesta Americana Resort that boasts an impressive pool and swim-up bar. The Explorean is right on the beach. Have fun at the Americana during the day and relax in quiet at the Explorean at night. Perfect.
Azul Beach Resort Negril by Karisma, Jamaica
This resort is one of the special resorts on Jamaica’s famous Seven Mile Beach. Every room has a terrific view of the Caribbean. Some also offer a private “swim-up” that lets you literally step from your bed and slip right into a pool. As for dining options, the seafood buffet can’t be missed.
Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa, St. Lucia
Coconut Bay Beach Resort is almost like two resorts. The Harmony wing is for adults-only and has its own private pool and oceanfront spa. Over on the Splash wing, families will find a water park and paintball court. The mile-long white-sand beach is open to both sides and perfect for kite-surfing.
All great destinations for your travel bucket list.
