There has been speculation over the years on whether dogs can see colors or if they only see black and white. Zagline is here to clarify this debate once and for all. Dogs can see color but not the same color spectrum as the human eye. Dogs have two colored cones as opposed to the human three. Dogs are missing the red cone which means they only see yellows and blues. Due to their missing red cone, they are unable to see the rainbow spectrum we as humans are able to see. To set the record straight, the assertion that dogs only see black and white is false. The correct answer is, dogs are able to see blue, yellow, and grey.
